Johnnie Lee File, Sr., 80, of Salisbury, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021, at his residence.
He was born February 9, 1941, in Rowan County to the late John Calvin and Virgie Adams File. He attended Granite Quarry School and enjoyed his work logging and farming. Mr. File also worked at Erwin Middle School as a custodian. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, farming, and with his grandchildren; he loved the family that he leaves behind.
In addition to his parents, Johnnie was preceded in death by his siblings, Marie Hedrick, Richard File, and, Judy Sledge.
Mr. File is survived by his wife, Lorene Whitley File , whom he married February 14, 1959; children, Navonda Ritchie and husband, Glenn, Roxanne Smitley and husband, Gene, Johnnie File, Jr. and wife, Renae, Alan File and wife, Tamie, Loraine Ketchie and husband, Scott, and Calvin File and wife, Kim; grandchildren, David, Aaron, Diana, Lee, Micky, Augustina, Katelin, Abby, Madison, Sydney, Cole, Madilyn, Luke, and Eli; and great-grandchildren, Anabelle, Joshua, Dylan, Sierra, Whitney, Lee Roy, Brodie, Carter, Jonah, Whitley, Nora, Emmitt, and Scout; sister, Jean Shoaf; and brother, Joe File.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell.
