Ann Corn Petrea

Annie Hulene Corn Petrea, 86, of Faith, North Carolina died Saturday, October 22, 2016 after a period of declining health.

Ann, the oldest of four children, was born on January 15, 1930 in Durham County to Claxton Lee Corn and Addie Barger Corn Abernathy.

Ann was a 1948 graduate of Granite Quarry High School.

She married Clyde Bruce Petrea on August 15, 1948 and had three children; Troy Petrea (Janice) of Granite Quarry, NC, Pam Frick (Mel) of Pensacola, FL and Alison Shue (Tim) of Faith, NC, as well as seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Ann is preceded in death by her husband Clyde; and sister Rose Corn.

She served as a children's Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, Women's Missionary Union and sang in the church choir and later, the Senior Adult Choir. Ann retired from the Rowan/Salisbury School System.

Above all, Ann was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother. The family wishes to thank the staff at Genesis HealthCare Rehab and Nursing Center. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Faith Baptist Church Mission Fund.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 25th from 2 -3 pm at Faith Baptist Church.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 25th at 3 pm at Faith Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Tim Barnette and Dr. Charles Brawley.
