ROCKWELL - Mrs. Betty Miller Fraley, 79, of Rockwell, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2011, at Magnolia Estates Skilled Care of Spencer.
Betty was born Nov. 15, 1931, in Rockwell, the daughter of the late Daniel Miller and Emma Lyerly Miller.
Betty was a 1950 graduate of Rockwell High School, a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church, a former Sunday School teacher, member of WELCA and the Miller-Russell American Legion Post 112 Auxiliary.
She had worked for Taylor's Five & Ten, Harry Peeler's Curb Market and was a homemaker. Betty loved to travel, quilting, crocheting, and all kinds of crafts.
Survivors include her husband, John A Fraley, Jr., who she married on May 7, 1950; daughters Karen Fraley Samples and husband Larry of Rockwell, Kathy Fraley Fisher and husband Rick of Winterville; grandchildren Mark Samples, Chris Samples and Laura Fisher; and great-grandchildren Kaitlyn and Connor Samples.
Visitation: 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 21 at Powles Funeral Home of Rockwell.
Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 22 at St. James Lutheran Church, Rockwell, conducted by Rev. Craig Sigmon, pastor. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens, Rockwell.
Memorials: May be made to St. James Lutheran Church, Rockwell.
