Wednesday, June 15, 2011 — Dovie Genora Misenheimer Harwood, 86, of 625 Bethany Road, Albemarle, died at 12:10 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Stanly Regional Medical Center, Albemarle.
The family received friends from 7-9 Monday evening at Stanly Funeral Home.
Her funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at Salem United Methodist Church, where she was a member. The Rev. Jacqueline Tookey will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Born July 10, 1924, in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Carson and Pearl Roseman Misenheimer. She was co-owner of T&D Grain and was a farmer.
She was married to the late Thurman Lloyd Harwood who preceded her in death June 3, 1997. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rose Genora Morris.
She is survived by a sister, Alice Beaman of Locust; three grandchildren, Genora Michelle Furr, Larry Allen Carpenter Jr. and Lauren Rose Sanders; and one great-grandchild, Ian Carpenter.
