NORTON, Mass. - Carolene Elizabeth (Rink) Peeler, age 87, died Thursday, May 31, 2012.
She was the daughter of the late Hillery Hudson Rink, Sr. and Carrie Ethel (Fleming) Rink of Salisbury, N.C. She was a graduate of Catawba College, Class of 1944, and a retired archivist for the National Archives in Washington, D.C.
While raising her children, she enjoyed bird watching, flowering plants and singing. She was an active member of the Garden Club and Hancock Church Choir, in Lexington, before moving to Chelmsford, Mass.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, George D.M. Peeler of Norton, Mass.; daughter Donna and husband Alan Siegel of North Easton, Mass.; son Walter Peeler and wife Beth MacLean of Tyngsboro, Mass.; and daughter Brenda Peeler and husband Todd Shank of St. Croix, U.S.Virgin Islands; grandchildren Kimberly and husband Mark Matakanski, Crystal Siegel and Joshua Siegel.
She was sister of John Felix Rink, Jr., Donald Eugene Rink and the late Hillery Hudson Rink, Jr., Naomi Rink Bernhardt, Dorothy Rink Adams and Joe Lee Rink.
A private family memorial service was held. She will reside at the Otis Air Force Base, Bourne, Mass.
Arrangements are under the care of Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, Foxborough, Mass.
