SALISBURY - Alex Franklin "Bud" McClamrock, 79, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Born March 19, 1932 in Davie County, he was the son of the late Gennie Myers and Lloyd McClamrock.
Educated in the Davie County Schools, he was a 1950 graduate of Cooleemee High School. Mr. McClamrock served in the United States Marines in the Korean War. He retired from Duke Power Company's Buck Steam Plant after 38 years of service.
Mr. McClamrock was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, the Spencer Moose Lodge, the Cooleemee VFW and American Legion and was active with the Duke Power Retirees.
Survivors include his wife, Maretta Eagle McClamrock whom he married on July 16, 1960; daughter, Kim Billingsley (David) of Salisbury; grandchildren Alex Joe Billingsley and Caroline Mae Billingsley and a step great-grandchild, Austin Billingsley.
Visitation: 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2011 at Lyerly Funeral Home.
Service: 1 p.m. Monday following the visitation in the James C. Lyerly Chapel with Rev. Kelly Ottinger officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Lyerly Honor Guard. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park in Salisbury.
