Maretta Eagle McClamrock

Mrs. Alice “Maretta” Eagle McClamrock, 84, of Salisbury, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Autumn Care of Salisbury. She was born Oct. 30, 1930, in Salisbury to the late Martha Caroline Trexler Eagle and Calvin Deberry Eagle and was a 1949 graduate of Boyden High School.

Mrs. McClamrock worked for 40 years at Cannon Mills 7. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, dancing, skating, volunteering and helping in her community.

Mrs. McClamrock was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Spencer Women of the Moose, Joy Club, Making a Difference, Ladies Auxiliary of Cooleemee VFW and Meals on Wheels.

Preceding her in death was her husband of 51 years, Alex Franklin “Bud” McClamrock, who died on May 15, 2011. They were married July 15, 1960. Also preceding her were brothers Poley Eagle and Murry Lee Eagle; and sisters Betty Eagle Beattie and Virginia Eagle Keller.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kim McClamrock Billingsley and husband David of Salisbury; brother Don Eagle of Texas; sister Nancy Coggin of Salisbury; and her three beloved grandchildren: Alex Joe Billingsley, Caroline Mae Billingsley and Austin David Billingsley.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Sunday (May 10) at Summersett Funeral Home.

Service: A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Sunday at Summersett Memorial Chapel, conducted by Rev. Joshua Britton. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.

Memorials: May be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 2380 Long Ferry Road, Salisbury, NC 28146.
