Thomasville - Mrs. Lois Kennedy Cranford, 80, of 486 Harrison Hedrick Road died May 13, 2000, at her residence.

She was born May 11, 1920, in Davidson County, a daughter of Ranson Dalford and Florence Chapel Kennedy. She had been a lifelong resident of this area. She and her husband, John Willard Cranford, were owners and operators of the T-Ville Diner for 21 years. Upon her retirement in 1980, she was employed with T-Ville Diner until her health failed a few months ago.

She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. On Oct. 25, 1949, she was married to John Willard Cranford, who died April 6, 1993. She also was preceded in death by a son, Jack P. Chapel.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Betty Hughes and her husband, Harold, of Lexington; Mrs. Jessie Freeman of Hickory; Mrs. Brenda Hill and her husband, Odell, of Lexington; Mrs. Donna C. Wright and her husband, Larry, of Lexington and Sherry C. Everhart of Thomasville; two sons, James Freddie Cranford and his wife, Kay, of Thomasville and John Eddie Cranford and his wife, Pat, of Thomasville; 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in J.C. Green & Sons Chapel by the Rev. Carroll M. Upton. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the home of the son, James Freddie Cranford of 416 Harrison Hedrick Road.
