Rose Honeycutt Dedmon
Thyra “Rose” Honeycutt Dedmon, 91, of Salisbury, passed into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at The Laurels of Salisbury. She was born June 3, 1931, in Rowan County the daughter of the late Alfred Ben Honeycutt and Emily Blackwelder Honeycutt. Rose was a lifelong member of Christiana Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school for over 40 years. Rose graduated from Catawba College with honors, where she was May Queen, as well as Homecoming Queen her Freshmen and Senior years. She was a school teacher at Wiley Elementary and Granite Quarry Elementary schools. Rose was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Anne Rink and Nancy Fisher.
Those left to cherish her memory is her husband of 70 years, Donald Dedmon, daughters, Lynne Parks (Charles) of Huntersville, NC and Leslie Cathey (Jim Scarboro) of Salisbury. Grandchildren, Stephanie Duca (Dan) of Wayne, NJ, Catherine Kirchin (Zack) of Huntersville, NC and Chuck Parks (Kathy) of Huntersville, NC. Great-grandchildren, Sterling Rose Kirchin and Liliana Grace Duca.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held at Christiana Lutheran Church on Friday, April 7, 2023, at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Keith Less officiating. The family will receive friends in the Smith Hall following the Celebration of Life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christiana Lutheran Church.
