Nancy Honeycutt Fisher

Nancy Honeycutt Fisher, 81, of Salisbury passed away into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Autumn Care of Salisbury after a brief illness.

She was born on January 9, 1935 to the late Alfred Bennie and Emily Blackwelder Honeycutt of Salisbury. Nancy graduated from Granite Quarry High School in 1953. She retired from the Salisbury Post having served as the newspaper librarian for many years.

Nancy had been an active lifelong member of Christiana Lutheran Church, serving earlier as youth Sunday School Teacher and as a choir member for many years. She enjoyed crocheting afghans for others and grew beautiful hanging flower baskets.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Wade W. Fisher, Jr. and sister, Emily Anne Rink.

Nancy is survived by her son Wendell Wade Fisher of Salisbury, grandson Russ Levi Fisher and friend Madison Weavil of Faith; sister Rose H. Dedmon and husband Don, three nieces Jenny Craft, Leslie Dedmon Cathey and Lynne Dedmon Parks and husband Charles all of Salisbury; nephew John L. Rink, Jr. and wife Connie of Charleston, SC; sister-in-law Pearl F. Lieurance of Rutherfordton; great nieces Debbie Miller of Nashville, TN and Sharon Young of Shelby.

Service: A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at 2:00 PM at the Christiana Lutheran Church Cemetery, with Rev. Carl Haynes, officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials in memory of Nancy may be made to "Bright the Beacon Campaign" c/o Christiana Lutheran Church.
