Wade W. Fisher, Jr.

Wade W. Fisher, Jr. 84, of Salisbury, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury.

Wade was born on September 30, 1931 to the late Wade and Ruth Huffman Fisher in Granite Quarry. He was a 1949 graduate of Granite Quarry High School. Wade worked in Washington D.C. as a clerk typist for the F.B.I. for one year before joining the Air Force, he served for 4 years including one in Korea. After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Air Force Wade worked at Fisher Thompson Hardware. He went to work at the Salisbury Post where he worked for 40 years as a pressman and retired as a press foreman.

Wade was a member of Christiana Lutheran Church., where he and his wife Nancy were married on October 11, 1953.

Wade is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Nancy Honeycutt Fisher; son, Wendell W. Fisher of Faith; grandson, Russ L. Fisher and friend Madison Weavil of Faith; sister, Pearl F. Lieurance, niece, Debbie and Jim Miller, great niece and nephew, Kimberly Miller and Brian Miller of TN; niece, Sharon Young, great nephews, Hunter and Chandler Young; sister-in-law, Rose Deadmon and husband Don; nieces, Lynne Parks and Leslie Cathy; niece, Jenny R. Craft; nephew, Dr. J.F. Rink and wife Connie.

In addition to his parents, Wade was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Anne R. Rink.

There will be a graveside service on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 2 pm at the Christiana Lutheran Church Cemetery with Rev. Carl Haynes officiating. Military graveside rites will be provided by the Rowan County Honor Guard and the NC National Guard. The family will receive friends immediatley following the service.

Memorials may be made to "Brighten The Beacon Campaign" c/o Christiana Lutheran Church.
