Mr. Larry Wilson Hill, Sr., 77, of Oakboro passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in his home. His funeral will be at 2 PM Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Oakboro, NC with Rev. Brian Medlin and Rev. Keith Walters officiating. Burial will follow the service in Oakboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The body will remain at the funeral home until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.

Mr. Hill was born January 10, 1938 in Stanly County. He was the son of the late Pearl Benjamin Hill and Bertie Alice Coble Hill. He was a retired employee of Rocky River Lumber Company and also from Stanly Knitting Mills. Mr. Hill also worked on lawn equipment for the public when his health allowed. He was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church.

He was married to the late Brenda Mae Furr Hill who preceded him in death October 22, 2010. Other survivors include two sons Larry W. Hill Jr. and wife Christiane of Oakboro and Jeff A. Hill and wife Mandy of Oakboro; two brothers, Roger Hill of Oakboro and Bill Hill of Concord; and one sister, Evelyn Crowell of Oakboro. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Will Hill, Paden Hill, Rylie Hill, Rance Hill, and Kayla Hill. Mr. Hill is preceded in death by five brothers; Don Hill, John Hill, Frank Hill, Lowell Hill, and Doug Hill.

The Hill family requests all Memorials be made to American Cancer Society, Relay for Life.
