Tuesday, October 26, 2010 — Mrs. Brenda Mae Furr Hill, age 69, of 405 E. 5th St., Oakboro, N.C. passed away at 8:22 a.m. Friday, October 22, 2010 at Stanly Regional Medical Center.

Her funeral was at 4 p.m. Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Mineral Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Keith Walters officiated and burial was in Oakboro Cemetery.

The family received friends at Stanly Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23 where the body remained until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the hour of service.

Born April 21, 1941 in Stanly County, N.C. she was the daughter of the late Allen C. Furr and Carrie Huneycutt Furr.

She was educated at Endy High School and was a former employee of Stanly Knitting Mill.

Mrs. Hill was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church and enjoyed crafts, sewing and painting. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was married to Larry Wilson Hill, Sr. of the home. Other survivors include two sons, Larry W. Hill, Jr. and wife Christine Q. Hill and Jeff A. Hill and wife Mandy Hill, all of Oakboro; four brothers, Wayne Furr, Horace Furr and Boyd Furr, all of Albemarle, and Calvin Furr of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three sisters, Helen Hathcock and Evola Thompson, both of Norwood, and Ruby Rummage of Albemarle; and four grandchildren, Will Hill, Paden Hill, Rylie Hill and Rance Hill.

Stanly Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
