Ann Niedens

Ann Niedens, 63, of Carolina Beach, NC, died Saturday, September 6, 2008 in Houston, TX.

She was born in Oak Ridge, TN, the daughter of Lou Efird and the late John Maxwell Efird.

Ann was a devoted member of Kure Memorial Lutheran Church where she had served on the church council and was active in the WELCA. For over twenty years she was the owner and operator of Palm Air Cottages and she worked extensively with the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher.

Surviving in addition to her mother is her husband of thirty-three years, Edward M. Niedens; two sons, Phil Niedens and Edward W. Niedens; a daughter, Vicky Spain; a brother, Joe Efird; a sister, Sharon Efird; five grandchildren, Melissa Spain, Emily Spain, Asa Spain, Chase Niedens, and David Niedens; nieces and nephew, Carmen, Todd, Andrea, Valerie, and Laura.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm Thursday, September 11, 2008 at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday at Kure Memorial Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
