Betty B. Kluttz

ROCKWELL - Mrs. Betty Basinger Kluttz, 81, of Rockwell, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at her residence.

She was born Dec. 20, 1932, in Rowan County to the late Marvin Reid and Myrtle Castor Basinger.

Mrs. Kluttz attended Rowan County schools and worked at Cannon Mills in Weave Room 7 for as long as her health permitted.

A member of Rock Grove United Methodist Church, she was a member of the Open Door Sunday School Class.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kluttz was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Vern "Big Boy" Kluttz, who passed away July 27, 2010; and two sisters, Mary Tucker and Genelda Kesler.

She is survived by two daughters, Connie Holshouser and husband Dennis of Rockwell and Seleta Spry of Salisbury; sisters Ann Davis and husband Jim of Concord, Linda Davis of Salisbury, Judy Stirewalt and husband Wayne of Kannapolis and Tonia Faye Culp of Rockwell; grandchildren Travis Holshouser and wife Karla of Raleigh, Amy Powell and husband Shawn of Concord, Jonas Spry of Salisbury and Carly Spry of Myrtle Beach; great-grandchildren Anna Scott Holshouser, Baxley Holshouser and Emmie Holshouser, all of Raleigh, Gavin Powell, Ella Powell and Parker Powell, all of Concord.

Visitation: The family will receive friends Wednesday, Jan. 29, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Rock Grove United Methodist Church.

Service: The service will follow at 11 a.m. at Rock Grove United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Randy Lucas, pastor.

Memorials: May be made to Rock Grove United Methodist Church.
