Zela Ribelin Hill

Mrs. Zela Ribelin Hill, age 96, a resident of Thomasville, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017 in Lexington Health Care Center.

She was born April 11, 1921 in Rowan County, the daughter of the late Jessie Albert and Augusta Wilhelm Ribelin. Zela attended school at Jackson College in Gold Hill.

Mrs. Hill was formerly employed with China Grove Cotton Mill and Guilford Veneer Company. She was a member of East Corinth Baptist Church and attended Pleasant View Baptist Church. Mrs. Hill loved gardening and planting flowers. She was also very fond of roses.

She was married to Mr. Grant Junior Hill who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were one son, Kenneth A. Hill; two sisters, Irene Almond and Moline Eller; and three brothers, Therman Ribelin, Grady Ribelin and Baxter Ribelin.

Surviving are two sons, Larry Hill Sr. and wife Diane of Lexington and Gary Hill and wife Joan of Thomasville; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Service and Visitation: Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 5, 2017 at 12 p.m. in J. C. Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Joel Smith, Rev. Gary Hill Jr. and Rev. Dustin Hill officiating. The interment will be in East Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery in Gold Hill.

The family will greet friends Sunday evening, June 4, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. J.C.

Green & Sons Funeral Home is assisting the family.
