Carlan – Bostian

Ann Stoner Carlan and Clarence Leonard Bostian, Jr. were united in marriage June 22, 2008, at 4:30 in the afternoon at Christiana Lutheran Church in Salisbury.

The Rev. Carl M. Haynes officiated the ceremony, which was followed by a reception at the Fellowship Hall of the church hosted by the bridal couple.

The couple greeted wedding guests as they arrived for the ceremony and entered the church together in a wedding processional to the music ‘Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee.’ Mr. Terrence Franklin Stoner was the crucifix bearer for his sister, followed by the Wedding Banner carried by Miss Liberty Grace Cozart.

Mrs. Lynne Kepley Robinson of Salisbury, daughter of the bride, and Ms. Ilona Ingrid Bostian of Arnoldsville, Ga., daughter of the groom, served as Matrons of Honor for their parents.

Master Levi Price Bostian, great-grandson of the groom of Hull, Ga., served as ringbearer.

Honor Attendants were Mrs. Phyllis Roseman Taylor of Littleton, Colo., Mrs. Gwyn Pell Bottoms of Salisbury and Ms. Kathy Jean Younger of Falls Church, Va.

Acolytes were Miss Liberty Grace Cozart and Miss Abrielle Kathryn Cozart, both of Rockwell.

Mrs. Donna Webb Stoner of Lexington, sister-in-law of the bride, served as registrar. Mr. B. Douglas Robinson, son-in-law of the bride, was program attendant and photographer. Wedding director was Mrs. Kathy Morrow Haynes. Organist for the occasion was Mrs. Rosemary Kinard, and soloist was Mr. Ralph Hair, who sang ‘When Love is Found’ and ‘The Greatest of These is Love.’ The congregation joined in the hymn ‘Bind Us Together’ as the wedding blessing.

The bride, daughter of the late Ernest Joseph and Janice Brown Stoner of Salisbury, is a graduate of East Rowan High School and Catawba College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business. She retired from Wachovia Bank Corporation, where she had been the branch manager of the West and Main offices in Salisbury.

The groom is the son of the late Clarence Leonard and Vergie Cranford Bostian. He is a graduate of Boyden High School and North Carolina State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Textile Technology and had a career with various textile corporations in New York City.

The couple enjoyed a wedding trip along the Eastern Coast with stops in Beaufort, S.C., Savannah, Ga., and a final destination of Amelia Island, Fla. They are now residing in Spencer.

Rehearsal Dinner

A wedding rehearsal dinner was held at the home of the bride on June 21. The outdoor gathering was a barbecue with family and friends enjoying the evening. The bride’s home was decorated with flowers and candles echoing the red and black color scheme of the wedding. Gifts were presented to the attendants at this time.
