Thursday, February 4, 2011 — Mrs. Iris Allease Krimminger Barbee, 86, formerly of Locust, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2011 at Forrest Oaks Nursing Home.

She was born on August 7, 1924 in Union County to the late Ray Franklin Krimminger and Ida Mae Autry Krimminger Reeder.  She is also preceded in death by her husband, Homer Lee Barbee; four brothers; and one great-granddaughter.  Allease was a member of Kinza Memorial Baptist Church in Stanfield and a homemaker.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Kinza Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Nance officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  

At other times, the family will be meeting at the home of Ray Barbee, 805 Brief Road, Indian Trail.

She is survived by son, Ray Stanley Barbee of Indian Trail; daughter, Iris Barbee Yow of Concord; brother, Kenneth Krimminger of Oakboro; granddaughters, Crystal Tucker, Beneika Bolen, and Cathy Thomas; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Kinza Memorial Baptist Church.

Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Barbee family.
