LOCUST -- Homer Lee Barbee, 79, of 7523 Reed Mine Trail, died Thursday, March 21, 2002 at Stanly Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service is 4 PM Sunday, March 24, at Kinza Memorial Baptist Church, with Reverend Tom Ziegler officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will meet at the home of his daughter, Iris Yow, 405 Love's Chapel Road, Stanfield. Visitation is 7-9 PM tonight at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. Mr. Barbee's Sunday School class will serve as active pallbearers
Mr. Barbee was born in Stanly County on May 7, 1922, a son of the late Lola Blackwelder and Noah Mack Barbee. He was a knotter with Cannon Mills, and was a member of Kinza Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Allease Krimminger Barbee of Locust; son, Ray Stanley Barbee of Indian Trail, NC; daughter, Iris Yow of Stanfield, NC; sister, Pauline Carriker of Locust, NC; three grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Kinza Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is in charge.
