ALBEMARLE - Luther Dee Gordon, 80, 16518 N.C. 73 Highway, died Thursday (10 Feb 2000) at his home.
Born April 9, 1919, in Stokes County, Mr. Gordon was a son of the late Wesley Marshall and Pearl Elizabeth Patterson Gordon. A correctional officer with the North Carolina Department of Corrections for 20 years, he was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and Albemarle Lodge 703 AF &AM.
A daughter, Linda G. Lowder, preceded him in death.
Survivors include wife Faye Hatley Gordon, Albemarle; son Ricky Dee Gordon, Richfield; sisters Kathleen G. Shelton, Hazel G. Shelton, Ruth G. Curlee and Lucille G. Kenerley, all of High Point; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Salem United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Mark Denton. Burial, church cemetery.
