Faye Hatley Gordon

Faye Hatley Gordon, 87 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Faye was born July 29, 1927 in Stanly County to the late John William Hatley and the late Zora Ville Morton Hatley. She was also preceded in death by husband, Luther Gordon, and daughter, Linda Lowder.

The funeral service will be on Sunday, January 25, 2015, at 2:00 pm at Salem United Methodist Church. Rev. Jacqueline Tookey will officiate

Survivors include son, Ricky D. (Connie) Gordon of Richfield; grandsons, Anthony (Annette) Lowder, Trent (Joallen) Lowder, Ryan (Alicia) Lowder, Travis (Kirby) Gordon and Tyler (Lindsay) Gordon; nine great grandchildren; son-in-law, N. A. "Tony" (Martha) Lowder; and one brother, J. T. "Buck" Hatley. Faye was blessed with many cousins, nieces, and nephews, whom she loved dearly.

A life long member of Salem United Methodist Church, Faye was a dedicated member of the Ladies Sunday School class and circle. She was a youth leader, a member of the history committee, and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

Memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, 20987 NC 73 Hwy, or to Hospice.
