MOUNT PLEASANT - Rachel Marie Blackwelder Fisher Herrin, 77, of 17923 Page Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel in Midland. Burial will follow at Herrin’s Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Elder Rom Kerley and Elder Ted Morton will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. At other times they will be at the home of a daughter Becky Morton, 1204 Lambert Road.
Born July 11, 1926, in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Sarah Electie Page Blackwelder and Martin Riley Blackwelder. She worked as a spinner at American and Efird Mills, Albemarle. She was a member of Herrin’s Grove Primitive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Grady Lee Fisher and second husband Grant Efird.
Survivors include her husband, Claude Herrin, of the home; three sons, Grady Dennis Fisher of Charlotte, David Lee Fisher of Midland and Eugene Fisher of Charlotte; four daughters, Diane Fisher of Charlotte, Janice Carpenter of Mount Pleasant, Becky Morton of Mount Pleasant and Betty Rose Harris of Albemarle; two stepsons, Eugene Herrin of Red Cross and Jimmy Ray Herrin of Wilson; a brother, James Blackwelder of Mount Pleasant and two sisters, Ruby Williams of Mount Pleasant and Sue Belk of Mount Holly.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is in charge of arrangements.
