Mitchel Lee "Mick" Brown

Mitchel Lee "Mick" Brown, 71, of Salisbury, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017.

He was born January 8, 1946 in Rowan County, NC to the late John Mitchel and Helen Hagler Brown. Mr. Brown was a 1964 graduate of East Rowan High School and attended Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served his country in Vietnam from 1968 to 1971 during which he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. Mr. Brown was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and Miller-Russell American Legion Post No. 112.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his daughter, Crystal Earnhardt.

He is survived by his brother, Kevin Brown of Medina, OH, granddaughter, Larren Kluttz Lowry of Granite Quarry, nephew, Tyler D. Brown and wife, Kayla, of Salisbury, and great-nephews, Aidan and Abel Brown.

A graveside service with Military Rites by the North Carolina National Guard and Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 9, 2017, in the Historic Salisbury National Cemetery, 202 Government Road, Salisbury, NC 28144, conducted by Rev. Harold Smith.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church; or East Rowan Diamond Sports, Granite Quarry.
