Lester Clay Efird, Sr., 63 of Salisbury, NC, passed away on March 2, 2011. Lester was born, Feb. 14, 1948 in Rowan County, the son of the late Roy and Elizabeth Troutman Efird.
Lester was educated in the Rowan County Schools was of the Baptist faith, and was a self-employed contractor. Lester was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Vietnam War.
Survivors: wife, Lydia Walker Efird of Rockwell, sons, Lester Clay Efird, Jr., Luke Alexander Efird and step-daughter Nicole Corl-Efird of the home, brother, Thurman Efird and wife, Eleanor of Gold Hill, nieces; Bonnie Vaughn and husband, Bill of Gold Hill, and Tina Janke and husband, Greg of Salisbury.
Services will be held at a later date.
