SALISBURY - Mary Kate Earnhardt Oddie, 88, of Salisbury, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at her home.

Born March 10, 1921, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Council and Fannie Poole Earnhardt. Mrs. Oddie was educated in Rowan County schools and was a homemaker.

She was a member of Union Lutheran Church, the Margaret Frye-Catherine Mahaley Sunday School Class and Goodtimers Club.

She was preceded in death by husband Robert Lee Oddie, on Nov. 14, 1981; and daughter Mildred Oddie Efird, on March 24, 1993.

Survivors include daughter Kathleen Oddie Agner and husband Jimmy; son Leon Oddie and wife Patrica, all of Salisbury; sister Doris Spry of Mooresville; twin brother James Earnhardt and wife Jean; brothers J.W. Diez Earnhardt and Earl Earnhardt, all of Salisbury; grandchildren Kay Lyons and husband Richard, Jody Morgan and husband Mike, Tammy Heintz and husband Todd, Diana Wetter and husband Justin, Stacy Poole and husband Josh, Lee Oddie and Tara Cline; great-grandchildren Richie and Mariann Lyons, Keelee, Chandler and Ethan Morgan, Tanner and Thomas Heintz and Seirra and Dylan Wetter; and brother-in-law Charlie Oddie, all of Salisbury.

Service: Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at Union Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Howard officiating. Interment will follow at Union Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 12:30-2 p.m. Thursday at the Union Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall.
