Shirley B. Brown

SALISBURY - Shirley Ann Breedlove Brown, of Salisbury, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, May 3, 2006.

Born July 3, 1940, to the late John Jake Wilson and Minnie Jane Livengood Wilson, Mrs. Brown was educated in Rowan County schools, was a homemaker and had worked for Cannon Mills in the spinning room in the 1970s. She also was secretary for her husband 's business. Mrs. Brown was a member of Community Baptist Church and the Loving Workers Sunday School Class.

Besides her parents, brothers Eugene and Bobby Ray Breedlove and sister Helen Grayson preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 47 Years, Sidney Paul "Buddy" Brown, whom she married Dec. 27, 1958; sons Lonnie Ray Brown and Paul Eugene Brown and wife Karen of Salisbury; daughter Mrs. Cindy B. Poole and husband Rod of Salisbury; brothers John H. Breedlove of Salisbury and James Edward "Jimmy" Breedlove of Maryland; grandchildren J.R. Poole, Kyler Brown, Nicole Trott and Blake and Brynn Abernathy; and great-grandchildren Julian Shaver and Amber Owen. Mrs. Brown 's grandchildren were her greatest joy.

Service : The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Community Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Chris O 'Guinn, pastor. The body will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens.

Visitation : 7-8:30 tonight at Powles Funeral Home; at other times, at the residence.

Memorials : Community Baptist Church, Salisbury.

Powles Funeral Home is assisting the Brown family.
