Bill Poole

Oddis Theodore "Bill" Poole, Jr, 71, of Salisbury passed away at his residence Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Bill was born on December 1, 1943 a son of the late Oddis Theodore Poole, Sr. and Ethel Viola Oddie Poole.

A graduate of East Rowan High School, Bill enjoyed playing baseball at East and also on the Rowan County Legion Baseball Team. He worked for Fieldcrest Cannon for 43 years as a Supervisor and then worked for Bost Construction before retiring.

Bill was a member of St. Lukes Reformed Church, he enjoyed farming, fishing and watching baseball. He also enjoyed rabbit hunting. Family and tradition was very important to Bill.

Survivors include, his wife, Michelle Fowler Poole who he married August 22, 2002; daughters, Rhonda Poole Farley and husband, James of Salisbury; Terri Poole Taylor and husband, P.J. Kerns of Salisbury; Joy Poole of Salisbury; step-son, Jon Olson of Salisbury; step-daughter Raina Olson of Salisbury; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. And by brothers James Poole and wife Nell of Salisbury and Rickey Poole and wife Jenny of Salisbury.

The family will receive friends at Powles Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, May 1, 2015.

The Funeral service will be held at St. Lukes Reformed Church at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 2, conducted by Rev. Jon Schell. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Lukes Reformed Church, 1775 St. Lukes Church Road, Salisbury, NC; or to East Rowan Diamond Sports, PO Box 451, Granite Quarry, NC.
