John Grady Corl, Jr.

John Grady Corl, Jr. 77, of Gold Hill, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury .

He was born on June 24, 1938 to the late John "Grady" and Myrtle Simmons Corl in Rockwell, NC. He was a 1958 graduate of Rockwell High School and attended Pfeiffer College. John worked as a Truck Driver for Fredrickson. John was affiliated with Restoration Church and Freedom Worship Center.

John has maintained a booth at the Webb Road Flee Market since it first opened, where he sold Rawleigh and Watkins Products. He actively researched holistic medicine and herbal remedies. When he had the time, John enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family. John loved being around and helping people, he thrived on telling folks about holistic and herbal remedies.

John is survived by his Wife Rachel Hoffman Corl, whom he married on December 24, 1961; Two Daughters, Terresa Dianna Corl of Cary, and Paula Corl Davis and husband Jimmy of Gold Hill; Son, John Grant Corl of Liberty; Four Grandsons, Chad Corl, Grant Davis, Trevor Davis, and Jeremy Eagle; Five Granddaughters, Michelle Corl, Macy Corl, Misty Corl, Crystal Eagle, and Alisha Ammons; Brother, Robert Corl and wife Emma; Sister, Melva Adams; and 13 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by Daughter, April Corl Smith, Great-grandson, Raiden Storm Ammons, and Brothers, Donald Corl and Jerry Corl

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2016, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell, NC.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016, 12:00 pm at the Powles Staton Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Richard Smith, Pastor Steve Hamman and Brother Donald Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at the Salisbury National Cemetery (Statesville Blvd Location) at 2:00 pm with gravside rites provided by the NC National Guard and Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Powles Staton Funeral Home to help with funeral cost.
