GOLD HILL - Mr. Johnny Andrew Trexler, 66, of Gold Hill, passed away at his residence Thursday, June 7, 2007. Mr. Trexler was born May 10, 1941 in Rowan County the son of the late Albert Cecil Trexler and Mildred Stoner Trexler. Johnny was a 1959 graduate of Rockwell High School and was a life member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church and a former church council member. He was the owner/operator of Johnny A. Trexler Trucking Company and former owner/operator of Lentz General Store for nine years. Johnny loved tractor pulling and was owner of the tractor "The Joker".

Survivors include his wife, Clara Leigh Goodman Trexler, whom he married Nov. 28, 1959; daughters, Connie T. Sells and husband Rodney of Gold Hill and Bonnie T. Harwood and husband Scott of Salisbury; grandchildren, Winter Boggs, Dusty L. Sells, Brittany N. Harwood, Hunter C. Harwood and great grandchild Haileigh Boggs.

Visitation: 4-6 p.m. today at Powles Funeral Home of Rockwell.

Funeral Services: 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, conducted by Rev. Gary Coble, Pastor

Memorials: may be made to St. Matthews Lutheran Church Building Improvement Fund.
