Junius “June” W. Fraley

Junius “June” W. Fraley, 89, of Salisbury passed to his eternal home on Saturday, January 21, 2023.

Born on April 22, 1933 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Samuel Wade Fraley and Faye Elizabeth Barger Fraley.

Mr. Fraley attended Faith School. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked and later retired from Martin Marietta as a heavy machinery consultant. He was member of Shiloh Reformed Church and the Faith American Legion. He enjoyed gardening and working on cars, NASCAR, and sitting outside on his swing.
In addition to his parents, June was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Sylvia Ann Holshouser Fraley on January 6, 2021; brother, Dwight “Fuzz” Fraley; sisters, Nell Emory, and Elizabeth “Libby” Bame.

Surviving him are his daughters, Mitzi Patton (Randy) of Faith, NC, Jacqueline Beck (Gerald) of Rockwell, NC, Lucinda Fraley of Salisbury, NC and Melanie Walker of Salisbury, NC; brother, Jerry Eugene Fraley (Ann); grandchildren, Hannah Barbee (Brandon), Emily Botzenhart (Dan), Ty Beck (McKinley), Ethan Wilhelm, Ellie Wilhelm, Bailey Wilhelm, Lucas Wilhelm, Cameron Walker and Jackson Walker; great grandchildren, Sutton Ann Botzenhart and Daisy June Botzenhart.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 1 PM at Union Lutheran Church with Pastor Heidi Punt officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his wonderful caregivers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Faith American Legion Post 327, 1015 Gantt St., Faith, NC.
