ROCKWELL - Hoyt Wayne Deal, 76, of Rockwell, passed away Monday, April 20, 2009, at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Mr. Deal was born Nov. 10, 1932, in Rowan County, son of the late John O. Deal and Zula Stirewalt Deal. He was a 1951 graduate of Rockwell High School and a residential designer for 40 years, working for three architects before forming his own business.
He was a member of Organ Lutheran Church.
Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Mrs. Betty Goodman Deal, whom he married June 1, 1952; one son, Darrell Deal and wife Suzanne of Rockwell; two grandsons, Jesse Deal and wife Nina of Concord and Chad Deal, his wife Heidi and their son Cash of Cornelius; three stepgrandchildren, Lauren McCombs of Beaufort and Katelyn and Madison McCombs of Salisbury; a sister, Gwenn Roseman of Rockwell; and many nieces and nephews.
Service: A Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, April 24 at Organ Lutheran Church conducted by the Rev. Terrell Long, Pastor, and Rev. Robert Yount, Visitation Pastor.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Powles Funeral Home from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Organ Lutheran Church: 1515 Organ Ch. Road, Salisbury, NC 28146.
