KANNAPOLIS - Mr. Ned Robert Stoner, 75, of Kannapolis, formerly of Salisbury, passed away on Sunday Nov. 18, 2012.

Ned was born March 25, 1937, in Rowan County, the son of the late John David Stoner and Mary Anna Kesler Stoner.

Ned was educated in the Rowan County schools and had retired from Hills Furniture. He loved fishing hunting and gardening.

In addition to his parents, Ned was preceded in death, by his wife, Betty Earnhardt Stoner on Dec. 14, 2008; a daughter, Teresa Stoner Smith, who died in 2005; brothers Ray, Carl Lee, Ralph, Claude and Harold Stoner; and sisters Daisy Earnhardt and Mary Troutman.

Survivors include daughters Bonnie S. Livengood and husband Jerry of Kannapolis, Wanda S. Basinger and husband Ronald of Rockwell; sisters Dorothy Stoner of Salisbury and Pearl Stoner Poole of Gold Hill; grandchildren Tonya Ferrell of Salisbury and Scott Livengood of Kannapolis; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20 at Powles Funeral Home of Rockwell.

Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21 at the Powles Funeral Home Chapel, Rockwell, conducted by Rev. Curtis Davis, pastor of Old Pathway Freewill Baptist Church, Kannapolis.

Burial: Brookhill Memorial Gardens, Rockwell.

Powles Funeral Home of Rockwell is assisting the Stoner family.
