ROCKWELL - Rachel Thomas Holshouser, 78, of Rockwell, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at her residence.
Rachel was born June 22, 1932, in China Grove, a daughter of the late Virgil and Mary Strude Thomas.
Rachel attended school in China Grove, worked as a winder operator at China Grove Cotton Mill and was of the Baptist Faith. Rachel enjoyed cooking, sewing and crocheting.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holshouser was preceded in death by her son, Tony Foster, in June 1980.
Rachel is survived by her son, Richard Foster of Rockwell; brother Clay Thomas of Concord; and sister Hazel Crisco of China Grove.
Service: A graveside service honoring Rachel's life will held Saturday, June 18 at 11 a.m. at Brookhill Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Joe Black, pastor of Eastside Baptist Church.
Visitation: The family will receive friends Friday, June 17 at Powles Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

ROCKWELL - Rachel Thomas Holshouser, 78, of Rockwell, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at her residence.
