SALISBURY - Mr. William Cecil "Buck" Holshouser, 84, of Salisbury, passed away Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at The Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House, Salisbury.
William was born Nov. 27, 1930, in Rowan County, the son of the late Clay James Holshouser and Oveda Jackson Holshouser.
William was a member of Rock Grove United Methodist Church. He had worked for South China Grove Cotton Mill before retiring and enjoyed farming.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Thomas Holshouser; brothers Jake, Troy, Charlie, Tom and Larry Dean Holshouser; and sisters Annie Mae Johnson and Mary Karriker.
Survivors are sons Rev. Steve Holshouser and wife Janet and Jeff Holshouser and wife Robin of Salisbury; brothers Ken "Popeye" Holshouser of China Grove, Bobby Holshouser of Roanoke, Va., Bill Holshouser and Terry Holshouser of Salisbury; sisters Louise Johnson of China Grove and Dorris Burris; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Rock Grove United Methodist Church, Salisbury.
Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 31, at Rock Grove United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Randy Lucas, pastor, and Rev. Steve Holshouser, pastor of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle.
Interment: Brookhill Memorial Gardens, Rockwell.
Memorials: Rock Grove United Methodist Church; or Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care.
