Kenneth Ray Holshouser
Kenneth Ray Holshouser, 85, of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at his home in Salisbury, NC.
He was born December 25, 1932 in Rowan County, NC to the late Clay and Oveda Jackson Holshouser. Kenneth was a member of Rock Grove United Methodist Church where he was a Sunday School Teacher for over 20 years, sang in the choir, he was on numerous church committees, volunteered with Meals on Wheels, and helped making apple butter every year.
He enjoyed going to the YMCA, fishing with his brothers, and eating with them at the Faith Soda Shop. Kenneth retired from Frederickson Motor Lines where he worked as a truck driver.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Holshouser; son, Gary Wayne Brown; 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Kathy Holshouser Bost and husband Jackie of Rockwell; son, Danny Brown and wife Lisa of Hendersonville, TN; grandsons, Jonathan Brown, Alex Brown, and Zachery Brown; granddaughters, Carrie Newton and husband Steve, Amanda Masten and husband Scott, Natasha Sifford and husband Bradley, and Hannah Brown; great-grandsons, Steven Newton Jr. and fiancee Abbey, and Christian Newton; great-granddaughters, Katelyn Sifford, and Ella Sifford; sister, Louise Johnson; brothers, Bobby Holshouser, Bill Holshouser, and Terry Holshouser.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Saturday, August 25, 2018, 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm at Rock Grove United Methodist Church.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 25, 2018, in the Rock Grove United Methodist Church, Salisbury, NC, with Rev. Brian M. Crady, and Rev. Steve Holshouser officiating.
Burial will follow in the Brookhill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Bus Fund at Rock Grove United Methodist Church.
