ROCKWELL - Mary Lipe Beaver, 85, of Rockwell, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Mrs. Beaver was born June 9, 1920, in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late Floyd Fincher and Flonnie Kiser Lipe. Mrs. Beaver was a 1937 graduate of Concord High School and attended the Womens College of Business in Greensboro. She worked as a secretary at the Cannon Mills office, at East Rowan High School and at the Southwest Regional Education Center. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she was a former choir member and a former Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Young at Hearts Club of Rockwell, the American Legion Auxiliary, the N.C. Educational Secretaries and the N.C. Rural Letter Carriers Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Edd Archibald Beaver, whom she married Dec. 20, 1940; sons Dale A. Beaver and wife Marsha of Rockwell, Dan K. Beaver and wife Susan of Mauldin, S.C., and Dean R. Beaver and wife Billie of Rockwell; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services : Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church conducted by the Rev. Bruce Sheeks, pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation : The family will receive friends in the church Fellowship Hall following the funeral service.

Memorials : Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cemetery Fund, 2070 Emanuel Church Road, Rockwell, NC 28138. Powles Funeral Home of Rockwell is assisting the Beaver family.
