Rebecca Kay Meeks Shaver
Mrs. Rebecca Kay Meeks "Becky" Shaver, 65, of Richfield, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
She was born February 15, 1947 in Leaksville, NC, now Eden, to the late James William and Georgia Beatrice Ensley Meeks. Becky was a graduate of Morehead High School in Rockingham County, Allen's Beauty Center in Martinsville, VA, and completed the Certified Nursing Assistant program at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.
She worked for Carolina Heights Beauty Shop in Eden, Carolina Maid, and various nursing homes.
Becky made quilts and donated several to East Corinth Baptist Church, collected angels, and loved crocheting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Eldon Meeks and a sister, Teresa Gail Meeks.
Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Adam Shaver, whom she married March 29, 1969; two daughters, Deana Loflin and husband Damon of Mt. Pleasant and Kelly Shaver of Richfield; one brother, Eric Lind "Rickey" Meeks of Cascade, Virginia; and two grandchildren, Kaylee Grace Loflin and Greenlee Faith Loflin.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 PM on Monday, April 9, 2012 in the fellowship hall at East Corinth Baptist Church.
The service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, at East Corinth Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Johnny Daniel, pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 222 S. Church St. Suite 303, Charlotte, NC 28202.
