Sue Kluttz Bernhardt

SALISBURY - Sue Kluttz Bernhardt, 79, died Friday, April 11, 2008, at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

She was born November 27, 1928, in Granite Quarry. Mrs. Bernhardt was the daughter of the late Blanche Peeler Kluttz and Maurice Henry Kluttz.

A graduate of Granite Quarry High School in 1945 and Catawba College, Mrs. Bernhardt taught dancing at local schools in Granite Quarry and Salisbury. She also operated a dance school from her home in Salisbury from 1958-1995.

Mrs. Bernhardt was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Adult Sunday School Class #4.

Survivors include her husband, Sidney Ray Bernhardt whom she married October 22, 1949; daughters, Suzanne B. Wellman and husband Stephen of Stafford, Va. and Raynette B. Edge and husband Ken of Key Largo, Fla.; son, Tony W. Bernhardt and wife Annette of Pfafftown; sister, Evelyn K. Sills of Kannapolis; grandchildren, Christopher Stephen Wellman of Wilmington, Timothy Ray Wellman and wife Megan of Ruther Glen, Va., Jessica Sue Wellman of Stafford, Va., Alicia Gail Bernhardt and Michelle Renae Bernhardt of Pfafftown.

Service: A memorial service will be conducted 5 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. William S. Ketchie officiating.
