Mr. Lanny Clyde Morgan, 71, of Salisbury, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born March 25, 1943 in Paris, Texas to the late Clyde William Morgan and Sadie Kesler Morgan.
Lanny was a 1961 graduate of East Rowan High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. He was a salesman in the manufactured housing industry.
A member of Union Lutheran Church, Lanny enjoyed working with wood and carving. He could fix anything and was truly a "jack of all trades." Lanny also enjoyed yard sales, flea markets, and hunting. He was a lover of people and especially loved being with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gladys Fontan Morgan, who he married August 7, 1966; daughters, Andrea Morgan Cranfill and husband, Junior of Mocksville; Keri Morgan and wife, Deb of Charlotte; grandson, Luke Morgan Cranfill; sisters, Deena Morgan Lanning and husband, Jack of Salisbury and Karen Morgan and husband, Dillon Broome of Salisbury; nieces and nephews, Shonna, Jarrod, Eric, Greg, Tania, David, Michael, and their families.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 13, from 2:00 to 2:45 PM at Union Lutheran Church. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM at the church, conducted by Rev. David Nuottila, pastor.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 4770 Bringle Ferry Road, Salisbury, NC 28146 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
