Sadie Kesler Morgan

SALISBURY - Sadie Kesler Morgan, 84, died Saturday, Aug. 05, 2006, at her home.

Mrs. Morgan was born March 21, 1922, in Rowan County, daughter of the late David Marcellus and Nancy Jane Frick Kesler. She was a Graduate of Granite Quarry High School and a lifelong member of Union Lutheran Church. She was a poet and quilter.

Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by husband Clyde William Morgan; brothers, Marvin, Crawford and Melvin Kesler; sisters, Estella Honbarrier and Buna Lingle.

Survivors are son Lanny C. Morgan and wife Gladys; daughters Deena M. Lanning and husband Jack, Karen Morgan and husband Dillon Broome; grandchildren Andrea Cranfil, Keri Morgan, Shonna L. Black, Rev. Jarrod M. Lanning; and step-grandson Michael Broome. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren and by brother Carl F. Kesler of Salisbury and sister Naomi K. Kirk of Richfield.

Services: Funeral Services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, at Union Lutheran Church by Mrs. Morgan's grandson Rev. Jarrod M. Lanning, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Landis and Rev. C. P. Fisher, interim pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation: The family will be at Powles Funeral Home from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, and at the residence the remainder of the time.
