Mary E. Miller

SALISBURY - Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Miller, 92, of Salisbury, a resident of Trinity Oaks, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.

Born Feb. 17, 1921, in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Rosa Lee Loflin and Harvey Alexander Loflin.

Mrs. Miller was educated in Spencer schools and was a graduate of Cosmetology School. She worked as a hairdresser for a number of years. She also assisted local organizations with decorating for numerous events.

Mrs. Miller was a charter member of Milford Hills United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Burgess Gilbert Miller, who passed away in 1997; and brother Ira Loflin.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Christopher B. Miller of Winston-Salem; son Gilbert A. Miller (Cheryl) of South Beach, Ore.; son Jeff Miller (Patti) of China Grove; daughter Paula M. Witkowski (Tim) of Salisbury; grandchildren Bradley C. Miller (Major, U.S. Army), Daniel A. Miller, Stacey W. Wood (Brook); and great-grandson Everett Wood.

Service: Funeral service will be held Friday, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. at Milford Hills United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Combs officiating. Mrs. Miller will lie in state 30 minutes prior to service. Entombment will follow at Rowan Memorial Park mausoleum.

Memorials: May be made to Milford Hills United Methodist Church.
