Stone Edwin Miller

ROCKWELL - Stone Edwin Miller, 79, of Rockwell, passed away Sept. 13, 2011, at his residence.

Mr. Miller was born April 2, 1932, to the late John Gilbert and Imogene Rudisill Miller. He was educated in Rowan County schools and was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean War.

Mr. Miller was a machine operator for Perma Flex and a member of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle. He loved fishing, hunting and gardening, as well as guitar and string music.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Miller was preceded in death by sons Tony Miller and Jimmy Miller.

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Christine Addie Morgan Miller; sons Terry Lee Miller of Rockwell and Jeff Allen Miller of Rockwell; one brother, Joe O. Miller of Ft. Gains, Ga.; one sister, Alice M. Hughes of Greenville, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.

Visitation: The family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 15 at Powles Funeral Home from 11 a.m.-12 p.m.

Service: The service will follow at 12 Noon in the Chapel of Powles Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Steve Holshouser, pastor of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle.

Burial: Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the National Cemetery located on Statesville Boulevard at the VA Medical Center. Military Graveside Rights will be conducted by the N.C. National Guard and the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorials: Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, 3760 Stokes Ferry Road; or Gideons International.
