Ralph Deal
Ralph Lee Deal, 88, of Salisbury passed away on Monday, September 15, 2014 at the W.G. Bill Hefner Medical Center in Salisbury. Ralph was born on May 27, 1926 in Rowan County, a son of the Bruner Barringer and Zeola Kimball Deal.
Ralph attended Landis School. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served during WWII. Ralph was a brick mason, he worked for J.C. Roseman and Banks Bost during his career.
Ralph was a member of Organ Lutheran Church, he was a past member of the Church Council and the Cemetery Committee and the Organ Senior Citizens. Ralph was a lifetime member of the Faith American Legion Post # 327. When he was able, Ralph enjoyed woodworking, gardening and farming.
In addition to his parents, Ralph is preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Holshouser Deal on May 27, 1984; and brothers, Elbert and Bernard Deal.
Ralph is survived by his wife of over 29 years, Laura "Jane" Deal, who he married on July 6, 1985. Daughter, Renee Deal Sifford and husband Roy of Salisbury; grandchildren, Lori Tillman and husband Norman of Gillette, WY, and Bradley Sifford and wife Natasha of Salisbury; great grandchildren, Samantha, Jacob and Katherine DeMunbrun, and Katelyn and Ella Mae Sifford. Great great granddaughter, Jenny Jones. Step daughters, Linda Austin and husband Kenny, and Martha Lambert and husband Jerry; step grandchildren, Kevin Austin and wife Shelby, Gina Flowers and husband Jason, Chris Miller and wife Jayme, and Carrie Holshouser and husband Robbie. Step great grandchildren, Reid, Hollyn, Sydney, Reese, Kendall and Logan. Brothers, Bittle and Jay Deal; and sisters, Lala Lowder and Eva Mae Yost.
There will be a Graveside Service on Friday, September 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Organ Lutheran Church Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Carlin Ours. Military graveside rites will be provided by the Rowan County Honor Guard and the NC National Guard.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 19th from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Organ Lutheran Church Parlor.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Organ Lutheran Church.
