Notes for Estelle Yost
Estelle Brady

SALISBURY - Estelle Louise Yost Brady, age 86, went home to her Heavenly Father Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008.

Mrs. Brady was born June 26, 1922, in Rowan County and was the daughter of the late Pleasant James Yost and Lillie Bost Yost. She attended Rockwell High School, worked at Cannon Mill Plant II in the Spinning Room, retired from Erick Anders, Salisbury, and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Brady was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, Blessed Assurance Sunday School Class and was honored for many years of perfect attendance. She was a member of the Seasoned Saints Senior Citizens, Women of the ELCA and served as chairperson for many church committees. Church work was a very important part of her life, attending all church functions and assisted with numerous church related activities as long as her health permitted. She enjoyed traveling with the Seasoned Saints Church Group.

Mrs. Brady was a professional seamstress for herself and others. She loved crafts and cake decorating and spent many years making wedding cakes and cakes for all occasions. She was a member of Liberty and Rockwell Home Demonstration Clubs and the Rockwell Knitting Class.

She was a devoted, loving, dedicated and much loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a woman of quiet strength, a gentle spirit, a simple faith and a strong determination to make the best of any situation or circumstances that came her way. Her witness was her kind spoken words, loving compassion actions and presence.

She raised her family in the church and taught them the value of the Christian Life.

She was dearly loved by her family and all who knew her. She always saw the best in people and touched countless lives with her love and affection.

She was the world's greatest grandmother. The time spent with them was always rich. She will never be forgotten. She leaves behind the greatest gift a mother could leave her family, a godly legacy.

Mrs. Brady is survived by her husband, Claude Herman Brady. They were married Aug. 10, 1940, recently celebrating their 68th wedding anniversary with their family.

She is also survived by one son, Jimmy Lee Brady and wife Elizabeth of Salisbury; two grandsons, Brad Brady, Eric Brady and wife Ann; and two great-grandchildren, Kristen Michelle and Ryan Lee Brady; one daughter, Kathy Brady Whitley and husband Roger of Gold Hill; two brothers, James Yost and Hobert Yost of Rockwell; and a sister, Betty Yost Shipton of Wilmington.

In addition to her parents, her brothers, Ray, Ben, Marvin Yost and infant twin brothers, preceded her death.
