SALISBURY - Dellie Mary Jane Sides Miller, 84, passed away June 6, 2008, at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Miller was born on August 23, 1923, in Stanly County. She was the daughter of the late Daniel Luther Sides and Mary Ann Morgan.

She attended Rockwell High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Rockwell Church of God and was Secretary of the Ladies Auxiliary, choir member, Sunday School Teacher of the Toddlers Class.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Miller is preceded in death by her husband, Baxter Luther Miller, whom died October 9, 1971; brothers, Daniel Luther Sides, Glenn Luther Sides and James Eugene Sides.

She is survived by her sons, Baxter "Sonny" Luther Miller, Jr., of Salisbury, James Gilbert "Bimp" Miller of Faith, Roger Dale Miller of Salisbury; daughters, Nancy Ann Edwards of Salisbury, Shirley Evan Miller of Salisbury, Zelia Louise "Snook" Harrison of Rockwell, Carolyn Elaine Clawson of Spencer; brothers, John Ervin Sides of Gold Hill, Gilbert David Sides of Thomasville, Dewey Lee Sides of Salisbury; sisters, Stellia Mae Morton, Fredia Louise Hellard of Salisbury, Clara Sue Rainy of Salisbury; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.

Service and Burial: The funeral for Mrs. Miller will be 11 a.m. Monday at Rockwell Church of God conducted by Rev. Dwayne Holt, Rev. David Dunigan and Rev. Alan Misenheimer. Mrs. Morgan will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at East Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery, Gold Hill, NC.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at Powles Funeral Home on Sunday from 5-7 p.m.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to Rockwell Church of God.
