Randy Kimrey
Randy Lamar Kimrey of Norwood, passed away Monday evening January 8th 2024, he was 67.
Randy was born May 5th, 1956 to Patty Kimrey and the late Roy Kimrey of Cottonville, where he grew up helping tend the family farm.
Randy graduated from South Stanly High School having married the love of his life Jackie Kimrey,
Beginning his career at Collins and Aikman Corp., where he eventually became Plant Manager. He also managed Harmancos restaurant, while studying network security at Stanly Community College. Finally retiring after a stint as an insurance agent for Western and Southern insurance firms.
Randy loved the outdoors, enjoying fishing, boating, camping, motorcycling and looking for and studying native american arrowheads.
A talented artist, Randy was known for his carvings, but loved flintknapping, and loomwork. His home is adorned with many of his art pieces and keepsakes from his travels.
Most of all, Randy loved his family. He will be so very missed.
In addition to his Father, Randy is preceded in death by his Baby Sister, Cheryl Anne Tucker.
Randy is survived by his beloved Wife, Jaqueline Burnette Kimrey of the home; three children, Mandy Kimrey (Mason Smith) of whom he was so proud, Matthew Samuel Kimrey and Nathan Connor Kimrey, to whom he gave unwavering love and support, his Grandson Joseph Malloy Kimrey, whom he treasured; his sister Sandra Wiles(Bill Wiles) That never failed to make him laugh, and his Mother, Patty Kimrey.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, 6-8 pm at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.
The funeral will take place the following morning, Saturday, January 13, 2024 at First United Methodist Church in Norwood, 11am. Rev, Kelly Crissman will officiate.
