Roy Samuel Kimrey, 80, of Norwood passed away late Monday night, December 19, 2016 at Bethany Woods.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Thursday afternoon, December 22, 2016 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood. Rev. Alex Willoughby will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Edwards Funeral Home.
Roy was born September 26, 1936 in Stanly County to the late Samuel Victor Kimrey and Bessie Ann Huneycutt Kimrey. Roy was a retiree of Carolina Solite where he performed many duties during his years of service. He enjoyed fox and deer hunting, being outside with his dogs and raising beef cattle.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Rosa Geneva Kimrey and Violet Kimrey McSwain.
He is survived by his wife, Patty Jean McIntyre Kimrey of the home; son, Randy Kimrey (Jackie)of Norwood; daughters, Sandra Wiles(Billy) of Troy and Cheryl Kimrey of Norwood; three sisters, Pauline Mabry and Patsy Mabry both of Norwood and Rachel Thomas of Stanfield; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN.
