Notes for Grace Cevillia Talbert
Grace Cevillia Cagle

Grace Cevillia Cagle passed away to her Heavenly Home peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. Grace was born June 1, 1926 in Albemarle, N.C. the last of five children to Charlie and Cevillia Talbert.

She grew up in Albemarle, North Carolina and graduated in May 1943 alongside her older brother Charlie from Albemarle High School.

Grace agreed to marry the love of her life William (Bob) Cagle after a seven-year courtship while he was home on a three-day pass. They awoke the preacher late in the evening and requested they be married the next day, July 6, 1950 so that she could return with him to base as his wife. They had two daughters, Teresa Dawn (Terry) and Cevillia Louise.

Because of his Military service, they packed up and moved the next day to the first of many locations throughout the US and abroad during his 20-year Air Force service with Idaho being their last and favorite place to live.

After settling in Boise in 1967, Grace began her career at a local tailor shop as a seamstress. She later purchased the shop and renamed it Boise Tailor Shop. After many years of quality service to her clientele, she retired in 1988. Grace and Bob enjoyed their log cabin above Cascade Lake and time spent with friends in Cascade for many years. Both she and Bob loved the beauty and wide-open spaces that Idaho offered, while spending time with family and friends, and their beloved dog, Heidi. She enjoyed fishing with family and more than once out fished those who were with her. Gathering with friends to play Bingo at the senior center in Cascade and at the Meridian Senior Center was also a favorite pastime. In the time since Bob passed, Grace found great enjoyment and companionship with her last "fur-baby'', her dog Daisy. She loved spending time with family and enjoyed sharing stories of her childhood and her travels with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Actually, she just loved sharing stories with anybody who had time to listen.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Nellie, James, Lillian, and Charlie, Jr., her husband Bob, and daughter Teresa (Terry) Crouse. She is survived by her daughter, Cevillia (Gary) Salisbury; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Nathan) Rouse, Matthew (Natalie) Crouse, Jamie (Mike) Sharpe and step-granddaughter Amy Shidal; eight great-grandchildren Eric, Noah, Will and Sam Crouse, Declan and Lilly-Grace Sharpe, Emma and Tyson Shidal, and Son-in-law Steve Crouse. Services are under the direction of Summers Funeral Home, with a graveside service Thursday, March 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.

Our family greatly appreciated those who befriended and cared for Mom including her longtime friend Vera, neighbors Sharon, Kay, Kristy & Roy, Mary and Rae, and her housekeeper Kelly Griffith.
