Notes for Frances Adelle Ritchie
Frances Adelle Fuller

Frances Adelle Ritchie Fuller died on May 7, 2018, at the age of 90. She was born Dec.26, 1927 to Ira and Lillie Ritchie in Concord, NC, the seventh of eight children. Her father, a dairy farmer, died suddenly when she was three and left her mother to raise the eight children alone. She lost her husband of forty-one years, Robert W. Fuller in 1989. Six of her siblings have also past away. The apple of her eye, her fifth child and only son, Wayne Robert Fuller, died in 2016 after an 11 year battle with ALS.

Frances is survived by her sister, Faye Smith, and her four daughters, Sheila Rust, Adelle Carter (Don), Donna Brunetti (Richard), and Shirley Beale (Michael) and her daughter-in-law Kimberley Fuller. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, Winston, William, Michele, Wendy, Shawn, Kimberly, Matthew, Melissa, Glenn, Kevin, Jessica and Brittany. She was very proud of her thirteen great-grandchildren, Sarah, Zackery, Noah, Meghan, Emily, Allison, Cole, Josephine, Lily, Star, John, Madelyn and Chloe. She was also survived by many friends and neighbors, over the years, including the ones at her church Orcutt Baptist and in the SOS group.

Mom loved her family and often said we were her greatest accomplishment. She worked for years at Sears and later in Newport News Public Schools as a library clerk and teacher assistant in the First Step program. She enjoyed gardening and always had the prettiest yard in the neighborhood! Her other love was traveling and she took many trips around the US and to other countries. She toured Ireland at the age of 83. She was always ready to go, even on another trip to the Outer Banks!

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 11, at two o'clock at Orcutt Baptist Church, Newport News, officiated by Dr. M. Reginald Warren. A reception will follow afterwards in the church fellowship hall.

Please consider making expressions of sympathy to the ALS Association by going to Walk to Defeat ALS, DC Walk, and then Team Fuller Friends.

Thanks to the staff at Magnolia Manor in Smithfield and The Crossings of Harbourview.
