Larry Wayne Poole

Mr. Larry Wayne Poole, 66 of Salisbury passed away at his home on Thursday, March 16, 2017. Mr. Poole was born June 12, 1950, in Rowan County, son of the late Keith Lewis Poole and Marie Cranford Poole.

Larry was a 1968 graduate of East Rowan High School and was retired from Brad Ragan Good Year Tire after 38 years of service. He was a member of Providence United Methodist Church but he attended Calvary Baptist Tabernacle where he loved his pastor and friends and honored his God with his life.

He was a wonderful husband, loving father and grandfather. An avid farmer, he raised cows. He was also an avid bird and deer hunter and he enjoyed fishing. Larry loved his lake home and boating with his family.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Ricky Poole and sister Barbara Poole Hurley.

Mr. Poole is survived by his wife Naomi Furr Poole whom he married November 29. 1970, son Dustin Wayne Poole and wife Meredith of Salisbury, daughter Angela Poole and fiancee Tom File of Salisbury, grandchildren Tyler and fiancee Jamie, and Katlyn Hovater and great grandchildren Lilly Locklear and Cara Hovater and also by his sister Judy Poole Vestal and husband Frank of Kernersville and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle on Monday from 2:00 pm until 3:30 pm.

The funeral service will be on Monday at 3:30 pm at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, conducted by Pastor Steve Holshouser and Pastor Brian Vanderford. Burial will follow at Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Providence United Methodist Church, 6450 Bringle Ferry Road, or to Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, 3760 Stokers Ferry Road.
